Foreclosure? Over My Dead Building!

Don't Make Me Bust Out the Bulldozer! This is a situation where I’m not completely sure what to think. Should the man be praised as a genius, or should we just laugh at the bank? No matter what approach we take, I gotta give credit to Terry Hoskins for what he decided to do.

Terry is an Ohio man who has never missed a mortgage payment nor was he ever late making a payment.  But about 10 years ago he was sued by his brother and one-time business partner.  The IRS placed a lien on his carpet business and residential property.  He owed $160,000 on his $350,000 home in the end.  Someone even went as far as to tell the bank they would pay $170,000 to pay off the home and the bank told them no because they could get more for selling it after they foreclosed.  So Terry told them, “I’ll tear it down before I let you take it.”

After taking a bulldozer to the house two weeks ago, Terry says he is going to give the bank exactly what he started with.

“As far as what the bank is going to get, I plan on giving them back what was on this hill exactly (as) it was, I brought it out of the ground and I plan on putting it back in the ground.”

Hoskins business is going up for auction in March and he says that he is considering bulldozing that building as well.

However you may feel about the situation, you gotta give him credit for choosing a different method for fighting back against the IRS and the banks.  And I give him kudos for that.
