The Voice of…

Vote? HA!

Do you remember when it was said that the Government was ruled by the people and for the people? How the people were the leaders of the Government, we chose who we wanted and we trusted them to be our voice? Well, it looks like that’s going to be our downfall.

In a 5-4 ruling on Thursday, the Supreme Court decided that the prohibition that made it impossible for corporations and unions to have a large say in politics was unconstitutional.  What does that mean?

It means that the oil industry and the insurance industry and other huge corporations can now donate as much money as they want to whatever politician will bend over for them.  No more will it matter that you supported your candidate and maybe threw in a few dollars to help their campaign.  All that matters now is that big business is now free to virtually buy whoever they want to sit in office.

I’ve never been huge into politics.  I do not lean one way or the other.  I prefer to see who is the lesser of the evils that are running for office.  And that is truly all that it is.  It’s corruption under the covers.  All that this does is bring the corruption out in the open.

So thank you, you 5 Supreme Court justices who felt it was a good idea to cut out the middle man and just allow the corruption to flow freely.  Now I won’t look so bad when I say that my vote doesn’t matter.  Because no one’s vote will matter now.

Just the size of your checkbook.
